We always sing the 'jacaranda' chorus in the car and I wanted to document that story as well as the music that we've been listening to most this season. Done and done!
This year I am a member of The Stamp Spot Documenting December 2015 design team. I am using Michelle's kit as a foundation for my album this year. This is still available at her store. I'm linking up with Ali Edwards, the brains behind December Daily too. The Story of Today is about Tilly finding her letter from Santa, of the every day and the traditions of Christmas. She was so excited to find that Santa's elves had delivered her letter from Santa. She was out with her dad when it arrived and I told her that I heard some bells when she was out and to check if there was anything near the front door. We then said that the elves sometimes deliver the mail for Santa. Just a little bit of magic. We always sing the 'jacaranda' chorus in the car and I wanted to document that story as well as the music that we've been listening to most this season. Done and done!

These are events that happen every year and I've enjoyed looking back over past December Daily's and comparing how things change and how things stay the same.
Just a simple grid page, very similar to Ali's here, captioning the small square photos on the left side of the page. Where the invitation for the street party is will soon hold a photo of the kids on the slip 'n' slide, but this has been omitted for privacy. Today was a regular, but on the go type day with several things happening but nothing screaming 'CHRISTMAS'! I had a 2x2 grid sheet already in place from my foundation pages and when I saw Ali's idea of collecting items from around your home and popping them in there, I was sold. The right hand page houses all kinds of items- a stamp, shopping list, to do list, label from tinned peaches (always some in the fridge here!), junk mail, nappy box, etc. I know that there are some things in there that are so everyday now, but even next year may not be so. The left side is all about today. For over a year we have been thinking about getting me an eternity ring, and today was the day that it arrived. Lucky me, it came in under budget so we also got the saphire one- I love it! We're not big spenders so having a special piece such as my rings is super special... and I was excited to be able to use the diamond die cut from Michelle's kit too! :) This year I am a member of The Stamp Spot Documenting December 2015 design team. The Story of Today is about adventure! A morning in the city with our family and some friends. It was so much fun to be out and about with my little family and to watch their excitement seeing new things and new places! The pages are quite self explanatory so I'll let the photos (LOTS of them!) speak for themselves. I think that this is my favourite day of December so far. x

Since mum's surgery she's only been over to our house once for around half an hour. When dad called yesterday afternoon and asked if we had dinner plans, it was a pleasant surprise. The kids were extra excited to have ma and pa at our place again too, and it gave them an extra distraction while I was photographing a mini-session for a family.
Today's layout is super simple. I have added the kraft alphas and red washi from my stash for some extra 'pop' but everything else is from the kit. The red outline to 'family fun' is the border from the set of word stickers that came in the kit. It was a fun little challenge to use something that would usually be binned and it's got me thinking about other ways that I can use scrapbooking waste in my layouts. :) More than halfway through this project now! How are you going? Hmmm... so today is December 12th and this is how my album looks so far.
I am a little concerned! I'm thinking that I may need to change tact and either buy BIG jump rings or a new album. This is year 7 for me of participating in December Daily and I've never had this problem before. I think that the Project Life 6x8 binder mustn't hold as much as other brands that I have used in the past. Has anyone else found this to be the case? Today was the birthday party of one of Tilly's best friends, Emily. We are part of the same Mother's Group and have grown very close over the years. In fact, Deanna, Emily's mum often calls Tilly her other daughter. :) We celebrated the day with friends, all things colour and yummy food. The kids all had a great time. My kids are running on fatigue at the moment, so after the party was done, we came home for a quiet afternoon. I think that there will be a few more of these coming in the lead up to Christmas, especially now that Toby is on leave! Woo hoo! For today's spread I have used only items from the kit to tell two stories. The left hand side is about some 'girl time' that Tilly and I had a few days ago, with photos of our lunch, shopping trip and my cheeky vino by the tree in the afternoon! The right hand side is about today, with three 3x4 photos and a journal card. How is your December going? x This year I am a member of The Stamp Spot Documenting December 2015 design team. Today was a fun one, with a photo shoot in the morning and then an afternoon of market play! We held a drop-in Christmas market to sell mum's toys (she is a wonderful knitter!), Wendy's old stock, my fimo necklaces, promote Beck Holder Photography and to sell some of Wendy's friends' items too. It was a rainy day which may have slowed things down, but we still had a fun time. Toby had the kids for the day and they all did really well. Tilly slept at ma and pa's for the night and Sam fell asleep in the car before we got home. I may have spent all of my takings (and a little more!) BUT it was all on Christmas gifts for family so I'm happy that that job is (mostly) done. As has been the case for lots of my pages lately, it's mainly photos in this layout with all journaling cards and embellishments coming from the kit. Keep it simple and get it done is my motto! We planted sunflower seeds earlier this year and have been loving watching the plants grow. We recently have had 2 beautiful flowers form. Sam and I headed outside to let the chooks out and then he asked to hold my hand as we went to look at the flowers. I had my camera with me already to photograph them so I was able to snap the 6x8 photo of us holding hands. It's the simple things.

This is a great celebration where many volunteer and put on a live nativity. The Christmas story is brought to life around you as you wander around the sets and end in Bethlehem, after the birth of Jesus. We have attended a few times now and I was looking forward to going with some friends.
We shared dinner with Rachel, Graeme and the kids and then wandered down to 'Bethlehem' with others. After some craft before heading to the gate, it became clear that Tilly was quite nervous. We had warned her that it would be busy and noisy and I think that she had convinced herself that it would be quite scary. During the first scene she said that she was very tired and wanted to go home. Toby took her home and she went to sleep quickly. Sam continued on like a trouper and his absolute highlight was seeing Dolly. He also thought that the camels and the donkey were pretty cool! |
