This morning the kids and I ventured to the zoo with some friends of ours. I met Kelly through the Project Life Australia Facebook group and we have become real-life friends! Tilly and her youngest, W are a similar age and get along well, so it works when we all get together! It was fun to break our Wednesday routine (sorry playgroup!) with a trip out. Faves from today...
Day 2 and I am loving this process. It is 10:16pm and my youngest has only JUST gone to sleep so today will be only pics. These are from my real camera. A few from my phone are still there. :)
If I can, I will be posting some of my favourite photos from the day here each night.
Something that I have liked about my approach so far this year is to not try to take in every little portion of the day, but rather to capture things that I can tell stories about that are common to us now.
Monday was... a quiet morning at home cleaning and the kids helping and playing so well together, taking Tilly to kinder in the downpour, a planned GP visit for me, more play after kinder before an 'in-front-of-the-TV-kid-dinner', bath, late Toby home, sleepy drive for Sam, omelette dinner for Toby and pimped-porridge' for me. Lots of stolen moments in front of the computer screen too as me Beck Holder Photography website update post went up.
Here are some of today's favourites...

Thanks to Kellie for the prompt to post this.
The overnight wake ups, the overnight feeds and the feeding to sleep. The only resettling for mummy. The newly discovered temper tantrums. Yes, they get old.
But the sleepy snuggles, deadweight snores and dreamy chuckles? Nope. No way. I always want to remember those moments. They stay fresh forever.
I LOVE my baby boy, 20 months young.
This photo was taken back in late May but it is still the background photo on my phone home screen.
In case you've missed it, Mother's Day is this Sunday! Being a die hard lover of all things 'kid-made' I always like to include something that the kids have created into a celebration like Sunday. I like to promote the value of homemade to Tilly (and to Sam in time) and making things is a natural part of life here.
How I love my kids. Every day they bring a smile to my face.
Sam is nearly 1 and idolises his big sister. He copies her and tries to do everything that she does. He is into everything... climbing, opening and closing doors, reaching... all the time! It still blows my mind that this little body is able to get around so independently.
Tilly is just as full of beans. Just three she is most certainly a fully fledged threenager. Equal parts "I can do it myself" and "I need you!" It's all about singing and dancing, imagination and story telling lately.
This photo is so them, right now. It's taken out the front of our neighbours house as they set off down the street with Tilly singing a made up song then calling out, "I want to do a dance with moves that no one's ever seen before!" Sam was more than happy to join in and funny dance down the road with her.
This stage of life is all about them. I'm OK with that. It's my choice to be home with them and I know that this stage will be over before I know it. But I do miss some me time. This blog has been quiet lately because there's not been much time to sit down and blog... or create... or do much more than keep the house somewhat neat and everyone entertained and fed. When there is time I'm usually too tired to look at a screen.
I hope to be back with something interesting to say soon. Until then I'll keep on taking photos of these cute little ones and soaking in as much of their littleness as I can.
Yes... I realise that I am 12 days late but I've enjoyed some time away from the blog taking some holiday time with my family. You know what they say... taking a holiday with kids is the same stuff as usual but in a different location, yes? That was partly the case for us, but it was also wonderful to spend some more time together as a family, get some jobs done around the house and also have nearly a week with my parents at the beach. The photos above show a snapshot of our time away for the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015. It was great to see some friends at the beach, to get Tilly her first haircut and then to celebrate both Toby and her birthdays. We like to cram everyone's birthdays in in our family! ;)
I have a beautiful new camera but all of our lenses are kicking the can, so I am hoping to have my remaining December Daily pages posted ASAP and then start on sharing my Project Life.
I'm Beck! :)
