I am using their kit as a foundation for my album this year. Read more about that in my blogpost here.
I'm linking up with Ali Edwards, the brains behind December Daily too.
The story of today...
What an amazing day! I always knew that December 7 was set to be a full, frantic and fun day, packed full of events and celebration and it was true to my expectations!
There was a family fun day at church in the morning, complete with many activities and songs presented by the kids during the service. I always love and look forward to this service. The weather meant that the animal farm wasn't there this year. Following the service, Tilly did a craft activity and then we headed home for a little quiet time before the next event for the day...
... a 3rd birthday celebration for Tilly and her friends from our mother's group. The weather caused a change of venue so a family from our group hosted us all. There was cake, food, playing and fun with all of the parents and kids together.
Naps for the kids back at home before a sound check for carols by candlelight in the late afternoon and preparation for carols. Toby and I had dinner with the rest of the band before we headed over to the gardens for the main event! The drizzle remained all night and numbers were certainly down, but the event went ahead and it was special to be involved as always. I have been involved in singing at this Carols by Candlelight for way too many years to think about... it's got to be heading into 15 years! This is another amazing celebration that punctuates Christmas time for me. It is the carols event that I attended as a child and those years where it didn't work, I listened for as the music of carols and brass instruments bellowed up the street of my childhood home as I was too excited to go to sleep. My childhood primary school choir now performs at the carols and the Tongan choir always finish the night with a rendition of The Hallelujah Chorus. It screams Christmas, and there's nothing like standing on the stage and looking out at all of those candles. So amazing!
Obviously there are lots of elements to today so I decided to break it into 3 sections- church, party and carols. It's all pretty self explanatory. I have used mainly product from The Stamp Spot kits and some Ali Edwards cuts (made on my silhouette). This day IS the busiest in December for me. :)
Today, the eighth, is my birthday! I'm very lucky that today I was given a new camera from Toby and the kids, but this has caused some problems in getting the images onto the computer. We've had to upgrade our Lightroom software.... we're back! :) Loving the photos!
